David McDonogh to Walter Lowrie
-
Description
-
David and Washington have new teachers, Mr. Book and Mr. Snodgrass. "We did not like the change very well, but however since Mr. J M Lowrie was about to left the institution, we had to put up with it..."
Mr. J M Lowrie did not leave the institution altogether, he simply left off boarding in the college.
David mentions that he is ashamed to ask for anything else from Mr. Lowrie since he has been so good to him, but he is "now using borrowed books, and some others belonging to the Washington library."
"Our watches keep frustrate time and so does Mr. Miller's flute."
