After the Battle at Mount Dajo on Jolo island, Sulu province. March 7, 1906. The Bud Dajo massacre was called "The Battle Above the Clouds". Moros who opposed the US laws took refuge at the top of Bud Dajo, an extinct volcanic crater on the island of Jolo in the southern Philippines. They built defense cottas or forts. US military under the command of Major General Leonard Wood bombed the stronghold killing over 600 men, women and children. This was one of the military operations conducted against the Moros (Filipino Muslims). US soldiers pose for the camera in the aftermath of the massacre.
