Description

These Harker diagrams show a decrease in Fe, Ca, Ti, and P2O5 with increasing wt% SiO2. These elements are very compatible with solids, and crystallize out of a melt early while Si content is still relatively low. The remaining elements, Na, Al, and K, are incompatibles that remain in the liquid until the end-stages of crystallization.
