Part of Cascade Arc: Chondrite- and MORB- Normalized Spider Diagrams

Title
Chondrite-Normalized REE Spider Diagram, Cascade Arc
Description
This Chondrite-normalized REE diagram shows the compatibility of the Lanthanide Series. Like the MORB-normalized diagram, compatibility increases across the series (see description in MORB-normalized figures) These graphs, however, have a shallower slope than the MORB-normalized graphs. This is likely because Chondrites (representative of the primitive mantle) are less depleted than MORBs. So, there is a greater abundance of REEs in Chondrites than MORBs. Because there hasn't been fractional crystallization in a Chondrite, it hasn't yet rejected incompatible elements.
