Part of Austral-Cook Island Arc: Geochemical Plots

Title
Total Alkali and CaO vs. SiO2
Description
The samples from the Austral Cook volcanic arcs are fairly split between alkaline and subalkaline (although there are slightly more subalkaline samples) I suggest that the lack of a cohesive trend here is due to the three plumes that have sourced eruptions from this chain. As discussed in the magma generation setting, the three proposed plumes come from a very heterogeneous superplume, resulting in magmas of very diverse composition in similar localities.
